Ursula has a background in palaeogenetics and molecular archaeology. For the past 10 years she has been working for Illumina Cambridge in various roles: after a year in technical support, she was the lab manager for the commercial solutions lab, including several moves and ISO accreditation along the way, where she was able to hone her problem solving skills and her attention to detail.
Over the past 4 years she was the science lead for Illumina Accelerator, supporting well over 20 companies covering Therapeutics, Diagnostics over Tools and Agrigenomics. Her specialty was planning and execution of R&D milestones, as well as support around company creation. She loves working with startups especially to help them refine ideas in conversations.
